Travel to Tours and visit its magnificent Saint Martin’s Basilica as well as the beautifully preserved medieval quarter. Then, explore a local wine cellar and enjoy tastings of classic Loire Valley wines. Renowned as one of France’s great wine regions, the Loire is famous for its diversity of grape varieties and styles—Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Loire sparkling wines are among its most iconic.
Day 2: Beaune (592 km) – Saint-Émilion (45 km)
Head to Bordeaux, one of the world’s most celebrated wine regions, where around 700 million bottles are produced each year. Bordeaux is best known for its reds: Merlot dominates the Right Bank with its velvety smoothness, while Cabernet Sauvignon defines the wines of the Left Bank. Continue to the medieval town of Saint-Émilion, where charming Romanesque churches line the cobbled streets.
Day 3: Yvoire (19 km) – Dijon (50 km)
Yvoire, located at the foot of the Alps, is an ancient medieval village with over 700 years of history. It is recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Yvoire boasts medieval-style architecture and streets, as well as Swiss-like natural beauty and stunning lake views. Every courtyard, garden, and façade is adorned with greenery and flowers, making it a truly romantic flower-filled town.
Day 4: Reims (298 km) – Épernay (29 km) – Paris (145 km)
Arrive in Reims, the capital of the Champagne region. Since the 11th century, French kings were crowned at the city’s iconic Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral, earning it the title of “Coronation City.” As France’s northernmost wine region, Champagne’s cooler climate allows grapes to ripen slowly, creating the perfect base for sparkling wine. Continue to Épernay for a winery visit and a stroll along the prestigious Avenue de Champagne.
